Quotes Corner: Get Ready for Spring 2022 Intern Pursuit

As we return to some form of normalcy amongst the craziness of the COVID-19 pandemic, Quotes the Ad/ PR Club at UCF is elated to host Intern Pursuit in-person again this semester. 

The spring event will be held on Wednesday, March 23 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Pegasus Ballroom at UCF.

When we meet as a Quotes board, we always remind ourselves that our mission is to “cultivate the professional development of future industry professionals who will lead in the field of communication.” And, for that reason and so many more, we love hosting Intern Pursuit to connect talented interns with high-quality employers.

Intern Pursuit is the largest internship fair open to UCF students of various majors. Held every semester, this is a unique opportunity for bright-minded students to network with employers in the Orlando area. 

Participating companies are spread out at tables around the Pegasus Ballroom and students come dressed in business casual attire with resumes and business cards in hand, ready to give their elevator pitch to their potential future bosses.

The main goal of the event is for students to connect with companies they are interested in and have one-on-one conversations with them to learn more about the internship positions available.

Last semester, we had an extremely impressive turnout, with over 40 employers and 115 students in attendance. The employers in attendance ranged from non-profit, government, agencies, corporate, and even startup companies run by UCF alum. Internship positions available consisted of duties like social media management, content creation, copywriting, event planning and more!

We are excited to keep up the momentum from last semester and “Charge On” so that students can make meaningful connections and find internships, add to their portfolios and launch their careers. 

I actually attended Intern Pursuit for the first time last semester and landed my first college internship with an amazing startup educational tech company, Makecents, as a PR intern. After being so grateful for Intern Pursuit, I am excited for a full-circle moment to plan and execute this year’s event as the shadowing director of events on the student board of directors!
