The Florida Public Relations Association Orlando Area Chapter is committed to building and sustaining a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, while advancing the public relations profession. The chapter is committed to providing guidance and educational resources on diversity, equity and inclusion to its members, diversifying our membership and leadership, and educating diverse audiences on the value of FPRA in their careers.

FPRA Orlando provides:

  • Member engagement that highlights our diversity to all members

  • Recruiting professional members that represent our diverse population

  • Board of Directors meetings include dedicated time for discussion of diversity and inclusion as an official agenda item in order to ensure continued action

  • Open discussions on the topic of racism in chapter meetings for members, nonmembers and students

DEI Programming

We act and react more positively when we see similarities rather than differences in others. That concept is crucial for social action. In this conversation with Dr. Earl Mowatt, Vice President of Education at onePULSE Foundation, we discuss the importance of Diversity and Inclusion, along with the actions we can take to promote positive change in our organizations.

Does conflict make you uncomfortable? Focused on interpersonal and instructional communication contexts, this workshop walks participants through essential conceptualizations of equity, inclusion and diversity. Attendees will increase their self-awareness, gaining equity minded competence to navigate workplace communication more effectively in spaces of difference.
