
Florida Public Relations Association Orlando Chapter Internship
The FPRA Orlando chapter offers an internship program to provide a hands-on learning experience for a motivated student eager to break into communications/public relations. This internship allows the student to learn and apply skills in digital content creation, media relations, event planning, and brand storytelling from seasoned professionals. This role also offers an excellent opportunity to learn about governance and understand how a chapter board operates.
This position is filled during an academic year semester through an application process led by the VP of Student Outreach, with selection input from chapter leadership. The position reports to the VP of Student Outreach.
What You’ll Do:
Today’s PR and Communications professionals must be strategic thinkers, strong writers, and adaptable storytellers who engage audiences across platforms. This internship will help you build skills needed for agency, corporate, nonprofit, or government PR roles.
A key part of the role includes the opportunity to “shadow” and learn from FPRA Orlando chapter board members in their professional and board roles.
Duties include:
Developing engaging content for blogs, social media, and email newsletters.
Assisting with website updates, graphic design, and email marketing.
Assisting with event planning and chapter operations to keep things running smoothly.
Promoting FPRA Orlando events to local students through outreach.
Documenting your insights from “shadowing” experiences through blog posts, social media updates, or feature stories for the FPRA Orlando community.

Currently pursuing a college/university degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
Can-do individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys building relationships.
Strong writer with an eye for clear messaging and storytelling.
Self-starter who meets deadlines.
Familiarity with social media platforms and an understanding of audience engagement.
Basic experience with Canva or Adobe Design; experience using content management systems such as Squarespace a plus.
Days and times for work will be determined based on the successful applicant’s schedule.
Availability to attend monthly board meetings (virtual/in-person) and FPRA Orlando events (in-person).
Applicants should have reliable transportation to attend in-person events, board meetings, and shadowing opportunities as needed throughout the internship.
