Giving Tuesday: Supporting the next generation of PR professionals

The future of public relations starts with investing in the students who will shape it. This Giving Tuesday, the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Orlando Area Chapter is raising funds to support Quotes, its student chapter at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and help prepare the next generation of communications professionals for success.

The campaign runs Nov. 2 through Dec. 1, with a goal of raising at least $1,500 to support student initiatives during the 2026-27 academic year.

&Barr is leading the way as an early champion of FPRA Orlando’s Giving Tuesday campaign with a generous $1,000 lead gift in support of Quotes. This contribution brings FPRA closer to its $1,500 fundraising goal and helps create more opportunities for emerging public relations professionals to learn, grow and build their careers.

“Investing in the future of our industry is priority for &Barr,” said Erin Gutknecht, vice president of public relations at &Barr. “Our donation will scholarship students to attend FPRA’s PR & Comms Summit, where they’ll get head start on their careers by bridging the gap between the classroom and the real-world communications industry.”

Funds raised will help provide student-to-professional scholarships, cover a significant portion of the costs for two Quotes members to attend the annual FPRA summit and support additional initiatives, including the FPRA Orlando Intern of the Year Award. These opportunities help students develop professional skills, build meaningful connections and gain valuable industry experience.

Your gift can make an even greater impact!

  • The first 10 donors will receive 50% off registration for FPRA Orlando's January program (program name to be confirmed).

Beyond raising funds, the campaign aims to strengthen connections between FPRA Orlando and emerging professionals at UCF. By investing in student development, the chapter reinforces its commitment to advancing the public relations profession in Central Florida and empowering its future leaders.
