Public Relations Manager, Rosen Hotels & Resorts
Give a brief explanation of your job.
In a word, wow. I am in charge of all public relations for our hotels, foundations, subsidiary businesses and Mr. Rosen himself, which if you know how big of a rock star he is, you know this is the best part of my role!
How long have you been a member of FPRA and why did you join?
I am a rookie, in my first season as a member. I joined because I worked in the past and am friends with Jose Luis, Mark Richardson, Despina McLaughlin, and some other awesome folks. I knew that if I wanted to grow and get better at my new field, this would be a great first step.
What has been your favorite FPRA event or experience so far?
Really, just getting to know everyone has been awesome. Everyone is so helpful and always willing to help.
Tell us about an exciting achievement.
Well, I come to PR from the media world (TV news), so I have been fortunate to have received a couple of Emmy awards and Edward R. Murrow awards in that field. In the PR world, just working with Mr. Rosen and the team here at Rosen Hotels & Resorts has been amazing. Personally, my greatest achievements would be my two awesome daughters, Layla and Macie.
What was your first job?
My first job was delivering newspapers before school, which meant getting up at around 4:30 a.m. to walk around the neighborhood with a satchel of papers weighing down my back. My first real world job was as a reporter at a small TV station in Fredericksburg, VA, just outside of my hometown of Washington, D.C.
What's one fun fact about you?
I grew up with a rock ‘n roll legend (you’ll have to ask me to find out who), but the fun fact you can have without having to dig for information is I was born in England, before moving to Panama and eventually to the U.S. when I was 8.
