November PRoclaimer President’s Message

By Ali Beemer, APR - Orlando Chapter President

Happy Fall, y’all! The giving (and eating) season is here, and I hope you plan on taking a well-deserved break to spend time and give thanks with your loved ones. Personally, I have so much to be thankful for specifically regarding our phenomenal chapter.

The beginning of this festive season marks the end of FPRA’s renewal campaign, and I’m excited to report that your FPRA Orlando community is now 81 members strong. With 11 new members (and counting) and many still expected to renew, our membership growth continues to remain robust and healthy. My sincerest thanks goes out to everyone who has already renewed their membership, joined our chapter and our community as a new member, and our vice presidents of membership, Paula Machado and Melanie Arsenault, for all of their hard work on this year’s renewal campaign. I’m so thankful for your support!

Our chapter’s board of directors are also moving eagerly toward achieving our goal of making FPRA Orlando Greater Than ever, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that, as well. Having just launched our chapter’s new website (led by Valerie Moses and Nathalia Romano), leading amazing events for both October and November (special shout-out to Cynthia Velasco for teaching many of us about the wonders of Instagram Reels), preparing for the many events and campaigns ahead to close out 2021 (see below) and all the amazing professionals who make our chapter Greater Than every day, I’m overwhelmingly thankful and confident we will reach our goal.

Lastly, I’m thankful for the greatness to come. We plan to celebrate Giving Tuesday (Nov. 30) by raising funds for student scholarships at UCF (led by vice president of Student Outreach, Sarah Kelliher) – please plan to give back to this amazing cause, if you’re able. We’ll kick off awards season on Dec. 1 with our first Image Awards workshop (led by vice presidents of Image Awards, Kali Hammond, APR, and Cynthia Velasco). And our next monthly program on Dec. 15 will give attendees the insight to seek, secure and progress in their careers in today’s job market. Sending many thanks to all involved!

I wish you all a joyous Thanksgiving holiday stuffed with your friends, family and favorite foods. Only after may we break out the holiday decorations…

Cheers!
