April President’s PRoclaimer Message

By Juliette Gebken-Mayi, APR

Hi Orlando communicators,

I don’t know about you, but there’s something about the official start of spring that it’s reenergizing. And with all that your local board has been working on, I hope you feel the energy too!

Award season is upon us, and the first one is already open for submissions: the Joe Curley’s Rising Leader Award.  This is a fantastic opportunity to give some kudos to a fellow member who is actively involved in our chapters’ initiatives. Nominations close on April 25.

In early May, we’ll open nominations for the rest of the chapter awards, including the coveted Roger Pynn Award for Career Excellence, which recognizes a local professional for a lifetime of leadership and outstanding contributions to the field of public relations; the ImPRess Award for Professional Achievement, celebrating a trailblazer who has achieved an unprecedented or extraordinary milestone in their career or has left a lasting mark or impression on the Central Florida community; and the Intern of the Year award. I’m sure each of you knows someone extraordinary who deserves to be recognized, so start thinking who you can nominate. Submissions for these and more will open in early May.

We have so much in store coming up, including our new fundraising campaign to benefit Quotes, Spring into Giving and our always fun Spring Mixer (it’s free! Bring a friend or colleague who should see for themselves what our chapter is all about). Hope to see you there!

We hope you continue to see the value that your FPRA membership provides, from new connections to learning opportunities and a community of fellow PR pros that you can count on.

Have feedback or questions for us? My inbox is always open to hear your thoughts! Send me a note to juliette@jgmpublicrelations.com.

Seguimos!
