January President’s PRoclaimer Message

By Juliette Gebken-Mayi, APR

I know I’m not the only one who feels a renewed spark at the start of a new year—and that energy is already fueling big things for FPRA Orlando! Ahead of us is a year filled with fresh ideas, bold goals, and exciting opportunities to grow together as a chapter.

We kicked things off by welcoming two fantastic new board members: Alyson Sologoaistoa, who will lead credentialing for the chapter, and Karla Ochoa, who will oversee DEI. We’re also thrilled to continue our partnership with Quotes, collaborating with four talented students who will support key areas of the chapter while gaining hands-on experience. Along with that, we welcomed our newly appointed social media committee members Seth Carrillo and Bailey Newcomb; Jace Vail, our intern for the semester, and Lauren Cordero, Quotes’ president. Together with the rest of the Board, this passionate group is hard at work creating even more opportunities for connection, networking, and professional development for our members.

We’re also starting 2026 strong with an upcoming program designed to level up your eye for graphic design (click here for more details and to register), followed by a crisis management program in February. And that’s just the beginning—there’s so much more in the works as we continue building meaningful experiences that bring our community together. Stay tuned!

Coming up soon, we’ll begin recruiting for the 2026–2027 Board under the leadership of Sarah Kelliher. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved—or are simply curious about what board service looks like—I’d love to chat. Feel free to reach out to me at Juliette@jgmpublicrelations.com or connect with our Immediate Past President, Roy Reid at roy@roywreid.com.

As always, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as your chapter leader. I truly enjoy connecting with our members, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with feedback, ideas, connection requests—or even just to say hello. I’m always happy to hear from you.

Here’s to an exciting, impactful, and inspiring 2026!

Warm regards,
Juliette Gebken-Mayí, APR
