July President’s PRoclaimer Message

By Roy Reid, APR, CPRC – Chapter President

As we approach the close of another remarkable year, I want to take a moment to celebrate the strength, dedication, and momentum of our FPRA Orlando Area Chapter. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our board and the unwavering support of our members, we continue to lead as the largest chapter in the state of Florida, a distinction earned through commitment, creativity, and community.

Every program we hosted this year sold out. That’s no small feat, and it’s a direct reflection of the value we’re delivering and the energy our chapter brings to the profession. Our Media Mashup in June with PRSA Orlando doubled in attendance and was a standout success, drawing professionals from across the region to connect, learn, and grow.

We've also completed our board slate for the 2025–2026 year, and I’m thrilled to announce that we will install our new leadership team at our End-of-Year Celebration & Board Installation event on July 31 at Dubsdread. Please join us in honoring the work of this past year and celebrating the exciting road ahead.

We will also hand out our local chapter awards, including the Roger Pynn Award for Career Excellence, Member of the Year, the ImPRess Award for Professional Achievement, the Dr. Bob Davis “Unsung Hero” Award, and Intern of the Year. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

We will also celebrate the new FPRA state president, our own Lindsay Hudock, APR, CPRC. I know Lindsay will lead with her tireless energy and passion for excellence in that role.

It has been an honor to serve as chapter president, and I’m confident and optimistic as we welcome Juliette Gebken-Mayi, APR into her new role as chapter president. Her passion for this profession and vision for our future will no doubt take our chapter to even greater heights.

I also hope to see many of you at the PR & Comms Summit 2025 next month at Rosen Shingle Creek. The program is outstanding, many of you will be recognized for your hard work at the Golden Image Awards, and we will celebrate some of our members for individual recognition.

Alyson Solgaistoa is the 2025 John W. Dillin Award recipient. This is FPRA’s highest professional honor and reflects a lifetime achievement award. Alyson is certainly deserving of the recognition for everything she does and her contributions to FPRA in Orlando and statewide.

In addition, Jennifer Marcial Ocasio is our Joe Curley Rising Star honoree and will be recognized alongside the nominees from every other chapter in the state.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to continued growth, strong connections, and a thriving PR community in Central Florida.

With appreciation,
Roy Reid, APR, CPRC, MCPC
President, FPRA Orlando Area Chapter
