March President’s PRoclaimer Message

By Juliette Gebken-Mayi, APR

As we move through March, I’m reminded of how much this month represents both reflection and momentum.

Women’s History Month gives us an opportunity to celebrate the women who have shaped our profession—leaders, mentors, innovators and advocates who have opened doors and redefined what influence looks like in public relations. Our industry has long been powered by talented women whose ideas, leadership and resilience continue to move the profession forward. I’m grateful to be part of a community like FPRA Orlando where so many of those voices are not only present, but leading important conversations.

March also marks an important milestone for our chapter—we’re halfway through the FPRA board year, which goes from September to August. It’s incredible how quickly the time goes when you’re surrounded by passionate professionals who care deeply about this community. Our board has been working hard to bring meaningful programming, connection opportunities and professional development to our members, and there is still so much more ahead.

At the same time, this midpoint is when we begin looking toward the future of our chapter. Over the next few months, we’ll begin identifying leaders who are interested in serving on next year’s FPRA Orlando board. Board service is one of the most rewarding ways to grow your leadership skills, expand your professional network and help shape the direction of our chapter and the profession locally.

If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, I encourage you to start the conversation. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or looking to step into a leadership role for the first time, there’s space for new voices and perspectives at the table.

Thank you for being part of this community and for the energy, ideas and collaboration you bring to FPRA Orlando. I’m looking forward to everything we’ll accomplish together in the months ahead.

Warm regards,
Juliette Gebken-Mayí, APR
President, FPRA Orlando Area Chapter
