May President’s PRoclaimer Message
By Roy Reid, APR, CPRC – Chapter President
Celebrating Our Community, Looking Toward What’s Next
May is a month of movement. The school year wraps up, travel plans start to take shape, and across Central Florida, some of the most important conversations around infrastructure and growth are underway, including right here in our FPRA community.
As communicators, we know how vital it is to stay in step with industry developments. That’s why I’m especially excited about our May 29 chapter event, where we’ll explore one of the most essential, and rapidly evolving, sectors shaping our region: transportation.
We’re bringing together voices from GOAA, the Expressway Authority, MetroPlan Orlando, the Orlando Economic Partnership, and others for a powerful panel on transportation and communication — how infrastructure, growth, mobility, and message all intersect. These are outstanding storytellers, public engagement professionals, and regional leaders who understand how to build trust, momentum, and connection at scale.
If you’ve ever had to communicate about a complex project, manage public feedback, or build awareness across stakeholder groups, this panel is for you. Come ready with questions, insights, and curiosity and walk away with ideas you can apply in your work, no matter your sector.
A Moment to Celebrate You
As we prepare for this incredible event, I want to take a moment to celebrate you, our members. Our chapter continues to grow in size, in strength, and in spirit.
In an increasingly fast, fragmented, and noisy world, the FPRA Orlando Area Chapter remains a place of connection. It is a place to sharpen your skills, expand your network, and feel a little more seen and supported as a professional.
So, thank you. We see you, are grateful for you, and are excited about what’s ahead.
Looking Ahead: The PR & Communications Summit
Speaking of what’s ahead, make sure you’ve marked your calendar for the PR & Communications Summit, which is coming this August to Rosen Shingle Creek. It’s FPRA's signature statewide event and a chance to learn from and alongside some of the brightest minds in our field.
Whether you work in government, agency, healthcare, tourism, or corporate comms, the Summit is where trends turn into takeaways and inspiration meets action.
Until then, we’ll see you on May 29 as we continue to learn, connect, and grow together.
Because in FPRA, movement isn’t just about where we’re going. It’s about who we move with.
