Member PRofile: Arthur Goodman

Title and company: Co-CEO and Executive Producer, Oxenfree Film & Motion

Give a brief explanation of your job: My role with the team is to be a guide and resource for every department and client so that the machine keeps running. From Account Management to Creative Development, as well as Operations/HR - I'm involved with it all to make sure the team, our crew, and our clients are all taken care of throughout each project.

How long have you been a member of FPRA and why did you join? I joined FPRA 2 years ago with the purpose of staying connected to the Public Relations entities in the area, stay informed about current trends and industry topics, and then receive any deeper insight into managing PR for brands and entities. Oxenfree also collaborates with PR firms to ensure their video and motion graphics needed for their projects hit the mark in relation to their strategy, so having an understanding of how PR specifically supports our brands and agency clients is very important to me and my team.

What has been your favorite FPRA event or experience so far? The community and events have all been great, but probably one of the coolest and most interesting events was held at a Macy's and featured their personal shoppers speaking about first impressions, how fashion plays a role in our careers, and then there were free headshots being provided in the area as well. Was a fun event that was more than just chatting over coffee!

Tell us about an exciting achievement (personal or professional): Well currently, Oxenfree just received our first Emmy nomination for our TV series with Very Local called Blind Kitchen (Season 3). With this project being our first dive into television and longer-form, entertainment-focused content, we learned so much and really tapped into our community of talented chefs throughout Central Florida so that we could really highlight the culinary scene in Orlando. It was really hard, but we are incredibly proud of the work we did, so receiving this nomination is a big cherry on top. We find out of we become Emmy winners in early December at the gala hosted right here in Orlando, so wish us luck!

What was your first job? Oooo... That's tough. My first job was in music. I played drums, more specifically marching percussion for a long time. After graduating high school, I kept traveling down from Gainesville to Orlando for various performing groups and gigs, but my first regular job was actually playing drums while walking on 4-foot stilts in a group of 3 drummers and 2 acrobats at SeaWorld. I'll just say I was never bored with that job lol.

What's one fun fact about you? Due to my time as a musician, as well as long drives during summer vacations with my parents as a kid, I can say that I've visited every mainland state throughout the country. Traveling always brings amazing perspectives, and while I've also been fortunate enough to travel internationally, I have great appreciation for also exploring what's close. Visiting every state and experiencing both the diversities and similarities throughout the communities of the country has always been informative and inspiring.
