Title and company: Director of Marketing, 4Roots

Give a brief explanation of your job: I oversee marketing, communications, public relations, storytelling, and brand strategy for 4Roots. My role touches nearly every part of the organization, from supporting fundraising and earned revenue initiatives to helping launch programs, events, campaigns, and partnerships that advance our mission. At the heart of it all, my job is about helping people feel connected to the work we do and inspired to be part of it.

How long have you been a member of FPRA and why did you join? I was a member many years ago and then my career took a different path. However, I recently rejoined FPRA again because I’ve returned to a communications role and I deeply value the power of communications to shape communities, build trust, and drive meaningful impact. FPRA brings together some of the most talented and thoughtful communicators in Florida, and I wanted to continue learning, growing, and building relationships with others who are passionate about this work.

What has been your favorite FPRA event or experience so far? I’m newer to the chapter and haven’t attended a local event yet, but I’m very excited to get involved in the near future. From past experience, one of my favorite parts of Florida Public Relations Association has been connecting with other communications professionals who genuinely understand the challenges and opportunities that come with this industry. There’s something energizing about being surrounded by people who are creative, strategic, and passionate about telling stories that matter. I also love the annual conference and the opportunity it provides to learn from and connect with communicators from across the state.

Tell us about an exciting achievement (personal or professional): One of the most meaningful professional experiences of my career was helping create and launch a major capital fundraising campaign during the pandemic for an aquarium.
