September PRoclaimer President’s Message

By Ali Beemer, APR

A new leadership year for FPRA has begun, and I’m honored to serve you all as Orlando Area chapter President for the 2021-22 year. Excitement and energy (along with some pumpkin spice) are in the air as this year’s chapter board members begin to roll out their exciting plans for professional development programs, continued focus on diversity, equity and inclusion actions, accreditation workshops, networking events and more.

Later this month, I plan to meet with our board of directors for an all-day strategic planning session to continue our efforts to make FPRA Orlando ‘Greater Than’ ever before by finding new and creative ways to best serve you. Speaking of ‘Greater Than,’ that is our association’s new theme for the year – and while the world around us continues to change and evolve, our chapter will continue to do the same with safe, informative and fun opportunities to help make your year with FPRA Orlando ‘Greater Than’ as well.

We begin our year with a SWEET virtual program on Sept. 22 as the PR Manager for Crumbl Cookies, Anna Tibbitts, plans to walk us through this emerging brand’s impactful social media strategy and how this important tool is key to PR success (don’t forget to sign up). And this is just the start; make sure to renew your FPRA membership by Oct. 31 so you don’t miss out on all the excitement yet to come. Plus, one lucky Orlando Area chapter member who renews by the deadline will receive an amazing prize — a complimentary stay at a Loews resort in Orlando!

For me, FPRA Orlando has led to opportunities ‘Greater Than’ I ever imagined. Building a sense of community amongst our PR peers (both in Orlando and across the state of Florida) and enhancing our skills as practitioners is what our chapter is all about. And no matter what this crazy world throws at us, either professionally or personally, I know I have a PR family alongside me via FPRA, and so do you. I hope your experiences and our chapter’s promising future compel you to welcome others to our FPRA community as well.

Finally, please know that I, along with our board of directors, are here for you. If there is anything we can do to enhance the value of your membership this year, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to seeing you all both virtually and in person this year as we make FPRA Orlando ‘Greater Than’ ever (last one, I promise). Cheers!
