February’s President’s PRoclaimer Message

By FPRA Orlando President José Luis Dieppa

Hola!

February marks the observance of Black History Month. As we celebrate the many contributions made throughout history by Black PR Pioneers, let’s also encourage our organizations, clients and our community to ask the hard questions, have meaningful conversations and create positive change. I recently attended the program “Celebrating Black PR History: Looking Beyond the Data”, a webinar presented by the PR Museum, it was a great conversation about the remarkable efforts of the past five years to study the effectiveness of diversity programs. Additionally, the presenters talked about programs that have worked well in their companies to not only attract diverse talent, but how they managed to retain them through the senior ranks.

Image Awards season has arrived!!! FPRA Orlando is ready to celebrate everyone’s achievements in April. Our team is preparing a fantastic gala full of surprises. Submissions are due by Monday, Feb. 27, at 11:59 p.m. EST, so make sure to have your entry ready and I can’t wait to celebrate with you!  Plus, we are still accepting nominations for our PR Pro of the Year and ImPRess Awards. Deadline is Friday, Feb. 17, 2023. More information here.

I’m super thrilled about what FPRA Orlando has to offer in the next couple of months, and hope to see you at our next event.

José Luis
