Public Relations Specialist, Curley & Pynn Public Relations and Marketing Communications
Give a brief explanation of your job.
As a specialist, I provide strategic support to multiple client accounts in the utility and economic development sectors. My day-to-day involves a lot of research and strategizing, and I love getting to work alongside my team at Curley & Pynn.
How long have you been a member of FPRA and why did you join?
I was involved in FPRA as a student at Florida Southern College from 2018-2022. As a student, I joined to further develop my understanding of public relations and to build connections within the industry. Recently, as a young professional, I re-joined for the opportunity to network with peers and further my professional development.
What has been your favorite FPRA event or experience so far?
My student chapter frequently brought in alumni guest speakers to share how they got involved in the industry and what their career journeys looked like. Not only were these events inspiring, but I also learned valuable insight that I could apply to my own job search and growth.
Tell us about an exciting achievement (personal or professional).
I’ve been taking photos for seven years now and recently relaunched a wedding photography side gig. I’m super excited for my clients I have coming up in the next few months. Running a small business requires a lot of PR skills, so it’s fun to see both passions intersect.
What was your first job?
Following graduation from college, my first job was chapter consultant for Alpha Chi Omega, my college sorority. I learned a ton about brand messaging and leadership, and I’m thankful for my time in that role.
What’s one fun fact about you?
I absolutely love the show “New Girl” and competed for a chance to interview Max Greenfield, one of the actors on the show when I was in college. I wrote a 500-word essay about why I wanted the gig and was chosen for the interview in September 2020! Core memory, for sure.
